A Sushi Birthday

Nothing like having a birthday party at a sushi place and having a cake that looks like a sushi roll for dessert!

Groom's cake

The groom requested a Phoenix Suns themed grooms cake so here you go. The man cakes are always a challenge for me because I just don't think like that sometimes, but they usually manage to come out pretty cool.

Gelato Freeze inspired wedding

I LOVED this color scheme. I haven't been to Gelato Freeze but they tell me it's very similar to this. I thought this cake was beautiful and I loved making it. I can't wait to do her cousin's wedding in 3 weeks.

Ellie turns 4!

Ellie very much loves her pillow cupcake so her mom asked if I could make it into a cake for her 4th birthday. This cake was a BLAST!!! Chocolate w/ chocolate mouse... a kids dream party. The kids absolutely went crazy for this cake!

Double Bridal Shower

I was totally excited when they requested paisley! I have been wanting to do paisley for a long time but never really had the opportunity. I also found those little dragees at the cake store so of course I had to use them on these cakes. Oh, and the cake stands... I am in love with them. My dear friends gave me a gift certificate to a decor boutique for my birthday and I couldn't help but buy these cake stands. I have a six inch one too that matches.

Double Bridal Shower

This cake and the cake above it were for the same bridal shower for two cousins getting married 3 weeks apart. I was originally going to try to incorporate all of their wedding colors into one cake but I just couldn't mix turqoise, black, brown, pink, and green. It just seemed a little too crazy. Anyway... I love this cake! The blue zebra was my favorite.

Ooooo BABY!

I believe the words were "blinged out baby shower." I hope this cake lives up to the Bling! You may not be able to tell in the photo but it is covered in edible glitter! It was definitely the most sparkly cake I've ever done. Then we had to put the rhinestones on the diamonds of course. The bow is hiding it a little bit but the design on the top tier is zebra. When the girls came to pick it up they actually screamed. Those are always the best reactions. I love what I do!

Little Baby Boy

This cake was chocolate with chocolate mousse. I really hope the guests at this shower really like chocolate! And in case the background is too dark the base color is chocolate brown too. And you can't see it but the polka dots on the top tier get smaller as they go around the back. I'm really starting to get into this baby boy thing. I did only girly stuff for so long and with this run of boy stuff I've done lately I'm really starting to embrace it. It's still an interesting process to decide where to put something else where you would normally put flowers or bows. :o)

Simple but Freakin Awesome!!

Okay, I LOVE this cake! It was for a six-year old boy's birthday party. His mom gave me the little tile on the cake stand and said "turn this into a cake" so I did. She said that the dad was more excited about the cake than the birthday boy was.

Black and White Wedding!

This was an impromtu wedding cake. The family had other plans but something happened last minute where they couldn't do it anymore so they called me. I was a little nervous about having two cakes due in one day but with a little planning it went off without a hitch. I think this wedding cake is FABULOUS!! The wedding it wa delivered to was gorgeous, black and white, with red roses. It was really nice and I think the cake went perfectly!

Awaiting the arrival of a princess!

This cake was for a dear friends baby shower. The invitation was purple, black, and cream and had a darling crown on it. It was printed on pearlized paper so I pearled the cake to match. I kept wondering if I should add some decoration to the bottom tier but I couldn't think of anything classy enough to stay in keeping with the classiness of the shower so I left it blank. I made the crown out of fondant with sugar pearls. I tried to make it out of gum paste but it was too dry and I kept breaking it. The crystal above it was just hanging from the chandelier above the table. It wasn't part of the cake. :o)

A Baby Girl is Blessed

I love the shimmer shimmer with the edible sugar pearl accents. If this doesn't say new baby I don't know what does. I didn't taste this one but I know it was good. It was vanilla cake with 3 layers of chcolate mousse in each tier. YUM!

Surprise for Janeice!

Okay, you should have seen the party that this cake was for... The decorations were RIDICULOUS! In a good way. Lettie way outdid herself for her sister's birthday and this was the cake for it. I think this is very close to the top of my favorite cakes list. It was for adults only so that's why I put the non-edible "bling" on it. We can't have any kids ingesting plastic rhinestones.

8th Grade Graduation

I love the metalics these days! The silver is so very cool, and what goes better with silver than black right? I'm also getting better at making bows.

My Baby Brother's Wedding

Sven & Christine tie the knot... 450 miles away! This was an adventure for sure. I had to bake the cakes here, pack them back up in their pans and take them to Colorado. Then I had to make all the flowers (with the help of my sister, mom, & darling neices) up there, prep & cover the cakes in the Senior Center kitchen, then transport the parts to the events center and put it all together there... all while trying to coordinate the catering too. Crazy! But the wedding turned out amazing and I was just glad I could be such a big part of it. Love you Sven!

Another Baby Shower

I think this color combination has to be one of my favorites ever. I mean can it get any cuter for a baby girl baby shower? I had to make the bow and flowers the night before so they could dry. FUN FUN FUN!

33 Year Old Firefighter B-Day

Happy Birthday to you firefighter! This was one of the most fun cakes to make too. I thought it really looked like a fire hat. The medal was made out of gum paste and made to look metalic gold. Oh, it was chococolate cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. YUM!

8 Years Old

You gotta love the Cowboys right! This cake was super fun to make! I especially loved the silver layer. I finally learned how to make fondant look metalic. It's so cool!

Burning money!

Okay, just kidding. This was for Colby's birthday. He's nineteen and is going places. He has a "millionaire mind" and he's on FIRE! We didn't think about the money burning appearance until the cake was all done. Love ya Colby!

Engagement Party

Okay, they told me not to do a dark color for the flowers but I couldn't help myself. I saw this design online and I couldn't not do it. It was too perfect for such an occasion. I thought it turned out awesome. I wish we had a 360 of this cake. Oh... all those designs were hand cut with a knife! Crazy!
