Babies, Babies, and More Babies...
Once again, a baby shower cake. I really love doing these! I got to have full creative control on this one too and it was a good time. The polka dot line runs down the back too. I am in love with this bow. I originally tried to make it bigger but when I put in on the cake I'm glad I didn't because it was HUGE! This cake made my whole weekend. I just LOVE what I do. :o)

3 Year Old's Star Wars Birthday
This darling little boy that lives down the street from me wanted a star wars cake with Darth Vader and a red light saber on it. We thought about making the cake Darth Vader but then I got really scared and couldn't go through with it. I couldn't bear the thought of messing it up so I just went with round. His mom found the Darth Vader candle holder with the red candle in it so that part worked out. Then the trim around the bottom was a red light saber with a silver handle. It was a really fun cake to do.

It's a flowery event
I had full creative control on this one and sometimes that makes me nervous. The client said the theme of the party was garden looking flowers in distressed stone pots. I wanted to somewhat keep with the theme but still do my own thing so this is what I came up with. This fondant is actually chocolate flavored so it's a little bit better than regular fondant. I thought this cake was darling!
Not Fancy but DELISH!!
I had a request for a cake that "doesn't have the stiff frosting." So this is what I came up with. It was four layers of chocolate cake with 3 layers of raspberry filling covered with homemade chocolate buttercream. I finished it with chocolate shavings and fresh raspberries. It was seriously one of the yummiest cakes ever. One woman at the party said it was "pretty much the best ever." It always makes you feel good to get those kind of compliments. I LOVE my job!

Very Sweet Sixteen!
A sweet sixteen surprise birthday party is always a great occasion for a fancy cake. The 16 actually matched the decorations for the party which was very cool. There was a little bit of a sad story about this cake though. We had our first cake-tastrophe. When I was delivering it the top fell over when I did a u-turn ( that will teach me to pay closer attention) It broke the bow and made a gouge on the bottom tier on the back. It was sad and I actually cried. We put it back together at the party and it was still pretty presentable but I was very sad about the whole thing. I guess we all have to live and learn right???

"So Martha Stewart"
I delivered this wedding cake when no one was at the venue. When I went back in to take a picture there were two girls there looking at the cake and I overheard one of them say, "It's so Martha Stewart." I took it as a huge compliment. The green actually looks more green in the picture than it did in real life. It was actually more of an olive color. I have finally realized that simple can be BEAUIFUL too!

Double Bridal Shower
I was totally excited when they requested paisley! I have been wanting to do paisley for a long time but never really had the opportunity. I also found those little dragees at the cake store so of course I had to use them on these cakes. Oh, and the cake stands... I am in love with them. My dear friends gave me a gift certificate to a decor boutique for my birthday and I couldn't help but buy these cake stands. I have a six inch one too that matches.
Double Bridal Shower
This cake and the cake above it were for the same bridal shower for two cousins getting married 3 weeks apart. I was originally going to try to incorporate all of their wedding colors into one cake but I just couldn't mix turqoise, black, brown, pink, and green. It just seemed a little too crazy. Anyway... I love this cake! The blue zebra was my favorite.
